The WTKF delegation is going with the official visit to Okinawa, Japan to discuss the mutual benefit and cooperation of holding a prestigious event titled 2018 Festival World Karate-Do Renaissance in Okinawa.

We recently held our 2016 Multi-Style World Karate-Do Championships, titled 2016 Festival World Karate-Do Renaissance in Krakow, Poland. More than 2,600 competitors from 38 countries and 20,000 spectators attended this championship. We strongly believe that we are ready to repeat that success in 2018 in Okinawa, Japan.

This traditional karate-do seminar is dedicated to karatekas from South Africa and neighbouring countries. It will be a great opportunity to train and increase the knowledge and skills. By this event we hope to extend and strengthen the position of traditional karate-do in this part of the world and to cooperate with our Members in this region.

The purpose of WTKF seminar is the preparation to the Pan American Championship in Lima, Peru to be held on November 2017.

The countries which will participate in this seminar are: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The Traditional Karate-do Federation of Irkutsk Region is one of the biggest members of Russian national federation having more than 500 traditional karate-do practitioners and also one very actively advancing. The Nationals of 2015 and 2016 were organized by them, and everybody was really impressed with the high level of organization. Considering the success achieved by the federation and it’s rapid development the President of the Traditional Karate-do Federation of Irkutsk Region Pyotr Neupokoev was elected for the Vice-President of the All-RTKF for 2016–2021.

The city of Irkutsk is a large industrial, scientific and educational center having the status of one of the seven Russian cities with the unique historical and cultural heritage. The most famous and impressive landmark is Lake Baikal, “the Pearl of Siberia”, the largest freshwater and the world’s oldest lake attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the world.

The Irkutsk State University is the first university not only in Russia but also in the world to introduce a special high education program on traditional karate-do allowing the students to be officially certificated as traditional karate-do instructors. More than 25 students are studying traditional karate-do theoretical and methodological aspects, coaching, judging and history and of course practicing Budo under the guidance of the Traditional Karate-do Federation of Irkutsk Region instructors.

In accordance to above we are very happy to announce that the International Traditional Karate-do Tournament and Traditional Karate-do Seminar will take place on April 12-18, 2017 in Irkutsk, Russia.

9th Traditional Karate World Cup will be held this year in Atlas Arena sport hall in Lodz.
It will be a very prestige event.

In the 2017 World Cup there will compete 8 top men’s and 8 women’s traditional karate athletes selected by the WTKF Technical Committee.

The decision to organize such a great event in Lodz is not accidental. The city of Lodz is the “cradle” of Polish Traditional Karate-do. Many great karate athletes – national, European and world champions, come from Lodz as well as the headquarters of Traditional Karate Federation of Poland is located here.

On June 20-24, 2017, the AAKF will host its biggest event of the year! Beginning with
a 3-day international camp and judges seminar, instructors from around the globe will share their teachings with practitioners from their unique perspectives. The camp is a focal point of WTKF’s mission and vision of improving body, mind, and spirit through the practice and sharing of Traditional Karate. The event will emphasize detailed discussions and training on the mechanic, implementation, and methods of training of Traditional Karate on a daily basis.

AAKF and WTKF consistently seek to improve the practitioners’ technical understanding, implementation, and training methods, and such international camps are the occasion where this information is practiced and passed along to participants. The camps and seminars serve as the lifeline of every Traditional Karate practitioner and they should not be missed.

The international camp will kick off the 56th AAKF National Championship and National Youth Championships on June 23-24. Adult and youth practitioners will demonstrate their best karate and Budo spirit while testing one another’s skills in a competitive and educational environment. The National event is a precursor to the WTKF Pan American Championship in Peru in November 2017.

Lublin is a center of traditional karate-do in Poland. One of the biggest karate club in Poland managed by Sensei Andrzej Maciejewski, WTKF Vice-president 3, is located in this city.
A lot of international karate events and tournaments took place in Lublin, including:
2006 European Cup, 2013 World Cup and the International Conference „Quo Vadis ITKF?”, etc.

The previous Pan American Championship took place in Natal, Brazil and it was a great success. We strongly believe that we repeat that success in 2017 in Lima, Peru.

It will be back to the history when in 1990 the Traditional Karate World Championship was held in Lima, Peru.
