The 2. International Scientific BUDO Conference “Educational value of traditional karate – do”

The 2. International Scientific BUDO Conference “Educational value of traditional karate – do” was held on October 13, 2016 at the Japanese Martial Arts and Sports Centre Dojo – Stara Wieś in Poland. The Conference took place under the patronage of rectors of Jagiellonian University of Cracow and University of Gdansk as well as Marshal of the Lodzkie Region. The Centre for East Asian Studies of the University of Gdansk was the
co-organizers of the event.

The superb collection of scientists and experts of martial arts from Austria, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Poland, Serbia and USA had lectures during the Conference.

The meeting of scientists and experts of martial arts from all over the world was an opportunity to summarize the experience and researches on the values of karate and Budo and their impact on children as well as on various social groups. Karate is an invaluable educational assistance in the development of strong character and personality, teaches skilful of conflict resolution and leadership qualities.

All materials collected at the Conference will be provided as an application form to UNESCO to promote karate-do as a global educational programme.

The 2. International Scientific BUDO Conference was one of the accompanying event of the Festival World Karate-Do Renaissance which was held on October 14-15, 2016 in Cracow (Poland).
